Delivering Quality Cancer Services - MSc/PGDip/PGCert

Course content

This multidisciplinary programme provides the opportunity to study with internationally and nationally renowned leaders in the field of cancer research and service provision. It is aimed at those involved in providing cancer services, or whose role involves supporting patients with cancer, across health, social care and the third sectors. Students are likely to include professionals in NHS Trusts, Networks, commissioning groups, social care, independent services and third sector groups who wish to continue advanced education and training to deliver flexible and effective services, and to continue to develop the evidence base for practice.

Previous speakers include Professor Tom Hack from the University of Manitoba, Canada, Professor Mei Krishnasamy from the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and University of Melbourne, Australia and Professor Glynn Owens from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.

A range of assessment methods are used in the course, including essays, portfolio development, short answer questions, presentations, and dissertation or project report. All assessment methods will enable you to demonstrate your ability to analyse and reflect upon current issues in the organisation and provision of cancer services.

Students on the course have developed their careers, achieving specialist posts within their clinical areas and continuing their role development.
