About the course

Computing infrastructure is now vital for communication, government, commerce, and control of our physical environment. The MSc Cyber Security programme at Birmingham will give you the skills you need to deal with current and future cyber security threats through theory and practical experience. Entry Requirements

A 2:1 Honours degree in a relevant subject (eg, Computer Science or a closely related discipline) or international equivalent in Computer Science or a closely related discipline. A solid foundation in programming and knowledge of data structures and algorithms, in particular, knowledge of object-oriented programming will be a strong asset.

After completing a Masters degree in Computer Security, Funmilola obtained a scholarship to study for a PhD in Computer Science. On completion of her studies at Birmingham, she returned to work in the industry for some time and is currently consulting in the area of information security.

A £3,000 scholarship will be awarded to a number of privately funded, full fee paying, international Masters students.

This scholarship is awarded to applicants who have achieved or expect to achieve excellent academic results in their previous degree, for instance are ranked within the top 5% of their year.

Applicants must have accepted an offer for one of the School of Computer Science's MSc programmes. These scholarships are open to students from outside the European Union.
