I am responsible for the planning, development and delivery of all internal/external communications, PR and marketing services and brand awareness and perception. Nationally, this is one of the first in-house PR and Marketing positions in a school and as a result I have been leading the way and have been approached by other schools to talk about the impact and benefits of having an in-house expert.
What are your next steps and ambitions?
To continue to grow and become an outstanding practitioner and be an inspirational female leader who is mentoring and motivating others.
How did studying at Leeds Trinity help you reach your current position?
I can't quite believe it now, I was once a shy and nervous person! The community and family atmosphere of Leeds Trinity allowed me to flourish and find the confident person I am today. My degree gave a flavour of the breadth of the industries – particularly in the media sector. The connections and opportunities presented to me at Leeds Trinity enabled me to gain experience and 'get a foot in the door' whilst studying.
What did you enjoy most about being a student at Leeds Trinity?
The size, friends and opportunities! I was a real stay-at-home kind of girl and the thought of leaving home was daunting, so the fact that the campus wasn't intimidating really helped me to flourish. I met some amazing friends many of whom I am still in contact with today – I was Chief Bridesmaid for a university friend last week in London!
