Course Description

On this highly flexible programme, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in critically informed filmmaking.

This pathway is ideal if you are looking to develop a career as a filmmaker, creative producer, film programmer or in applied film research. In the first stages of the degree you will choose modules from a selection of "Film Production", "Film Aesthetics", "Film and Moving Image Culture", "Television and Visual Media", "World Cinema", "Film Festivals" and "Film Programming". To complete your studies, you will either write a dissertation, produce a short film or undertake a film programming project.

Modules include:
-Management in the creative industries
-Entrepreneurial management for creative artists
-Intellectual property
-Film production
-Film aesthetics
-Film and moving image culture
-Television and visual media
-World cinema
-Film festivals and film programming

Please note that all modules are subject to change.

Students studying creative enterprise normally progress in entrepreneurial careers, either pursuing start-up opportunities on their own or taking leading managerial roles in creative firms.

Many students come from backgrounds with considerable exposure to small- or medium-sized enterprises within the creative sector. On completion of the programme they use content from the course in the implementation of creative and commercial strategies for these firms.
