About the course

During this course, you will undertake an in-depth study of the person-centred approach to counselling. You will gain an overview of therapeutic models and current developments in theory and practice. There will also be an opportunity for you to take part in intensive skills development and supervision of practice, alongside widespread opportunities for personal development. This course provides a balance between academic work, skills development, professional practice, and individual personal development and self-awareness.

As a BACP accredited course, you are eligible to join the BACP professional register on completion of the Postgraduate Diploma.

Entry Requirements

Applicants are normally required to have the following:

- Honours degree, normally 2.2 or above. The degree can be in any subject as we welcome applicants changing career.
- Certificate in counselling of 90 or more hours in duration or recognised counselling degree.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must be applying for the first year of full-time study on this programme, or another eligible postgraduate master’s programme in the 2021-22 academic year. You must hold an offer for an eligible programme, achieve at least a second-class degree and meet your offer conditions by the admission's deadline.

You may apply for this scholarship if you have already been awarded a different scholarship. However, in line with the University of Salford terms and conditions, you can only receive one scholarship - the one with the highest value.

Application Procedure

There is no separate application process for this scholarship. You will be assessed when you apply for your chosen programme of study for the 2021-22 intake. If you are successfully offered this scholarship, you must accept your offer of admission and pay your tuition fee deposit by the deadline specified in order to receive the funding.
