About the course

This 20 credit, single module will enable you to critically evaluate global demographic and social drivers relevant to contemporary communities of practice. You will explore the value of co-production as part of person-centered practice and evaluate the contribution of Occupational Therapy to meet the needs of groups in diverse settings. It aims to prepare you for engagement into the strategic response of your profession to contemporary health and social needs, working with a third sector organisation to evaluate the unique needs of their community.

You will be required to attend a total of five face-to-face teaching days at our Waterside Campus and in the wider community. You are also expected to undertake self-directed study to complete an assignment.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold a first or second class BSc in Occupational Therapy.


Part-time UK fee: £890 (relates to study in the academic year 23-24 and may be subject to inflationary increases in future years.
