About the course

Overview

  • Designed for engineering graduates who are keen to embrace digital technology to assist them in their future civil engineering management careers
  • Gain the skills and confidence to use and understand the array of digital tools available to the civil engineering industry such as satellite, LIDAR, drones, computer analysis and digital design (including BIM)
  • Develop your understanding of sustainable design, climate change and renewable energy
  • Learn from academics who are experts in their fields whose teaching is inspired by the latest research
  • Advance your career with an optional placement year where you can gain real-world experience and put your skills and knowledge into practice

Course content

You will focus on Civil and Construction Engineering and gain practical experience of the current industry digital technologies such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), Drone Survey and Finite Element Analysis. You will be encouraged to consider how digital survey, analysis and management techniques can be used to assist companies in delivering large projects in a more efficient manner.

Entry Requirements

All applicants are considered individually on merit although we usually require a 2:2 honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, such the built environment, relevant engineering or science disciplines.
