“I am currently undertaking a postgraduate placement with Plumtree Group Ltd in Nottingham, developing web applications for hospitals and the NHS. Supported by the placement team at NTU, I successfully applied and interviewed for this role as a year-long sandwich placement between my MSc study.

“I am actively involved in the company’s major projects and my colleagues including the Manager Director have been very supportive. I am putting my programming skills to good use and I’m learning from the experienced programmers and project managers in the office. Another benefit is the frequent social events the company organises for their staff and clients.

“I would strongly recommend a placement to postgraduate students as it exposes you to the working world you will be entering on graduation. This placement has enhanced both my skills and my CV and I hope to pursue this line of work in the future. It is a unique opportunity to learn from others and develop your professional life whilst taking postgraduate study.”

"Before I came to Nottingham Trent University I was working. I found out about the course through the hotcourses website and I definitely liked the ring to it.

"It's a very powerful course, it's really cutting edge as Cloud solutions are being rolled in to replace currently existing enterprise architecture models. It also covers some other IT spheres worthy of note, that may mean more stress, but it's worth it.

"I found out about the bursary on the University's website. The application process wasn't too complex. I composed essays amidst other things, poured my all into it, submitted before the deadlines and was delighted when I was awarded the bursary.

"The bursary has provided a stepping stone for me towards achieving my career dreams; otherwise I may not have been here, due to financial constraints. I will become a professional, due to the highly technical nature of my course, and someday, I would end up bringing fame back to the University's name.

"I have enjoyed Software Programming carried out in our really cool laboratories. Nottingham Trent University really provides a lot of facilities and is keenly interested in its student's futures. I look forward to the more Cloud related programs in my module, but I am enjoying every step of the way.

"I aim to be a general practitioner of IT, using IT methods in problem solving and re-inventing already existing platforms in technology solutions in order to create better fit."
