The Computer Science Masters/MSc degree course is for students who have a first degree in a subject other than computing. The programme is designed to give students a grounding in both the fundamentals of computer science and practical software development skills, with optional modules available to study topics in more depth. Students from all backgrounds are welcome to apply, though mathematical and scientific competence at an advanced level is necessary for understanding the new subjects covered. Upon completion of the programme, graduates will be highly sought after by employers due to their specialist knowledge and skillset. There are many potential career paths open to those with a postgraduate degree in computer science, including positions within consultancy firms, large IT companies or investment banks, public sector organisations or teaching and research roles at universities.
