All postgraduate Computer Science programmes give you the transferable skills and knowledge to capitalise on the burgeoning and ever-evolving technology industry.

This MSc by Research degree in Computer Science allows you to pursue a one year individual programme of research that would usually finish after a year. But under appropriate circumstances, this first year may be used to progress to the second year of a PhD degree.

A recommended initial research training module forms the single taught element of the MSc in Computer Science, and is most suitable if you have a background in computer science or a related discipline and seek a wholly research-based programme of study.

How you're supervised on the Computer Science research programme

You will be taught by inspiring computer science experts such as Professor Matt Jones, widely recognised as a leader in the empowerment of rural digital communities in the UK and across the developing world.

Our brand new £32.5m Computational Foundry is likely to be central to your work. Sophisticated teaching and research equipment include a vision and biometric Lab, a maker lab, a TechHealth lab, a theory lab, a cyber security/networking lab, a user lab and a visualisation suite.
