This programme covers a wide range of topics in communication engineering and provides options from outside the core specialism. As well as acquiring specialist technical knowledge, you will develop generic skills such as: interpreting requirements and specifications to produce effective design solutions; making decisions on the basis of incomplete information; giving technical presentations, and working in a team. These are achieved through a combination of group and individual exercises. The programme is designed to cater for students with good general mathematical skills, such as might be gained from an Honours degree in electronic engineering.
About the School of Electronic, Electrical & Systems Engineering
Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering, is an exceptionally broad subject. It sits between Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Psychology, Materials Science, Education, Biological and Medical Sciences, with interfaces to many other areas of engineering such as transportation systems, renewable energy systems and the built environment.
Our students study in modern, purpose built and up to date facilities in the Gisbert Kapp building, which houses dedicated state-of-theart teaching and research facilities. The Department has a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research and boasts an annual research fund of more than £4 million a year.
