Direct access is granted for students with a Belgian Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies. All other applications are evaluated individually by an Admission Board.
Factors taking into account by the Admission Board include:
- English language proficiency: TOEFL IBT (min=79), IELTS (min=6.5), ITACE (min=B2) or Cambridge English (min scale score 175)
- Academic degree(s) already acquired.
- Grades scored in previous studies.
- Quality of motivation letter and letters of recommendation.
- Other relevant experience.
Depending on the content of your previous studies, the Board can assign an individual preparatory programme to the candidate.
EEA students: 939 EUR / Non EEA students 3.850 EUR
The study program consists of a good theoretical and methodological framework with a lot of must-read literature from the media area. Discussions in class draw conclusions and real life comparisons.
A historical foundation is created in the first semester and I am looking forward to the turnout of the upcoming semester.
The international character of the Master appealed to me because of the fact that the different cultures and backgrounds give different views on the same theory. It's interesting because it feels like gaining information from the people that experience it themselves.
The programme provides students with multidisciplinary knowledge about communication and new media in European society. Professors are friendly and eager to help, therefore the academic atmosphere is very pleasant. I would highly recommend it to students who are interested in gaining theoretical insight into the communication sector of the EU.
My master studies offered the chance to research the sports-health field and that was most fascinating to me, as I work as a certified sports instructor. In addition, I could choose from the many optional courses exactly those that were most relevant for my research and as a result get new perspectives on many innovative subjects.
I can truly say that it was a great year that brought new insights and perspectives. I especially liked the fact that current issues and trends in media markets were discussed which helped to understand connections and to think about changes and user patterns.
I learned to critically reflect on the latest trends and developments in the sector and measure their value to businesses, governments and citizens. Furthermore, not only was I impressed by the outstanding academic and professional knowledge of the professors, but they were all friendly and approachable.
