Clinical Pharmacy Practice (PgCert/PgDip/MSc)

Studying Clinical Pharmacy with RGU was one of the best decisions that I have taken. It was the start of a fruitful career in Clinical Pharmacy.

The PgDip has given me a flow of first-hand information and knowledge which help me get through my daily work. I have good memories of instances when I was utilising knowledge during the ward rounds that I would have read and learnt the previous day whilst studying for the course.

The course has also given me the necessary skills to apply the knowledge that I acquire. It is not enough to have all the necessary information - a true clinical pharmacist has to have the skill to identify pharmaceutical issues and to negotiate with other health-care professionals.

The MSc has then given me the opportunity to do my own research which has now been implemented in the hospital where I work. The methods that I learnt are an excellent stepping stone for further research that I would like to carry out in the future.

Distance-learning is a very convenient way of studying. It enabled me to study whilst I was still doing clinical pharmacy work full-time. The visits to RGU have always been very useful and consolidated the work that I was doing during the year.

Obtaining an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy with Robert Gordon University has moulded me into a clinical pharmacist who is well respected in the place of work. The training that I was given has enabled me to get great job satisfaction especially since through my interventions, patients use their drugs more safely and effectively. It has been crucial for my career progression and has also given me the opportunity to tutor and lecture students at university level.

Above all, I treasure the memories of the day I graduated in Aberdeen and obtained my MSc.
