This programme has been designed to enable postgraduate dental technicians, working in general dental services, the community and hospital dental services, to safely and effectively provide intraoral prostheses for patients to the highest international standards.
The course will extend over 18 months and consist of formal didactic components, supervised clinical practice, directed private study, written assignments, oral presentations and formative and summative assessments. Applicants must possess a degree in Dental Technology. Entry to training in clinical dental technology would normally follow, as a minimum, a three year period of professional experience in a dental laboratory. Applicants must have evidence of satisfactory seroconversion for protection against Hepatitis B. New regulations require testing for Hepatitis C for new entrants to the HSE. Applicants will also be required to undergo Garda (Police) Vetting.
