The University of Roehampton offer music scholarships to enable undergraduate and postgraduate students meet some of the costs of developing their talents through lessons, courses, or the purchase of relevant equipment (instruments/strings/sheet music etc.). In return, music scholars enhance the cultural life of the University through performances and enrich their colleges by being available for events chosen by College Heads.

Up to £1,200
The scholarships are open to all full-time Roehampton students from all disciplines.
The successful candidates have to: support the promotion of music at Roehampton; collaborate with other musicians at Roehampton; be willing to perform each term at Roehampton, both at fixed events in their respective colleges and for events in the University calendar (excluding those on extended study abroad).
Applicants must be enrolling in a programme which is taught on campus.
Applicants must submit the following:
1. A statement detailing why you should be considered and what the funds will be used for;
2. CV outlining your musical experience to date;
3.An audition (instrument/voice).

The scholarship is aimed at those who have achieved representative honours at a national or regional level, or have the potential to achieve this level of performance whilst studying at Roehampton. Applications are welcome from any sporting background, but particularly those which have team and individual national student competitions.
The scholarships are open to all full time Roehampton students. Applicants must be enrolling in a programme which is taught on campus.

This scholarship is available to international students enrolling on a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree programme who have been referred by an alumnus of the University who holds a full Roehampton qualification or who studied here on an exchange/study abroad programme. Applicants must be enrolling on a programme which is taught on campus.
This scholarship cannot be applied to students enrolling on a short course, including Pre-sessional, International Foundation Certificate, Pre-masters Certificate, Foundation Degree or CPD.

A £1,000 (Band A) or £500 (Band B) discount for first year of study
All eligible postgraduate students from outside the UK or EU who achieve qualifications on entry meeting the criteria outlined below will receive a substantial award from the Vice Chancellor's International Scholarship Scheme.
Band A (£1,000 discount):
7.0 IELTS or equivalent, a 2:1 and evidence of high academic achievement
Band B (£500 discount):
6.5 IELTS or equivalent, a 2:2 and evidence of good academic achievement.
You do not need to apply for this scholarship – eligibility is assessed automatically.

Awards are for one year only and cannot be combined with the Vice Chancellor's International Scholarship. This scholarship can only be combined with the Scholarship for Sporting Excellence or Roehampton Music Scholarship. The scholarship cannot be deferred. Students who defer their offer to the following academic year will be required to resubmit their application.
Applicants will be contacted if selected and given a month to accept the offer. The relationship with those who accept will be managed by International Officers. Students will be expected to become an 'International Ambassador' , which will involve providing a profile to be used in international publications, and attending University events when required.

As part of the direct online application form, applicants will be able to tick a box if they wish to be considered for the IES scholarship and will be directed to submit a 500 word statement including:
1. Evidence of academic excellence
2. Evidence of commitment to the subject area;
3. An explanation of how they will engage with and contribute to the University community;
4. An explanation of how the award with benefit them financially.
