About the course

If you wish to follow this route you must initially apply for MSc Cancer Biology and Therapy and successfully complete the first semester modules. This course will provide you with an in depth theoretical and practical knowledge of the biological processes associated with cancer and the development of new therapies.

You’ll be taught by researchers who have published extensively in the field of cancer biology and who have close research links with Brain Tumour North West and Royal Preston Hospital.

The course is three months of taught lectures, tutorials and lab work followed by a six-month, full-time, independent laboratory based research project under the supervision of active cancer researchers.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of a lower second class honours degree from a UK university or its equivalent in a biological discipline, for example Biochemistry, Physiology, Biomedical Science OR a qualification or experience deemed to be equivalent to the above.

In most cases we will interview prior to offering a place on the programme.

Those applicants seeking entry with appropriate experiences will be required to demonstrate the suitability of this experience both on application and at interview.
