About the course

Business Economics will provide students with a solid understanding of the fundamental tools of economic analysis that are employed to conduct rigorous study of economic issues and economic policies. This programme is a much applied field covering many topics beyond those stereotypically thought of as pertaining to economics. These may include finance and risk management, environmental and natural resource economics, game theory, or public policy analysis.

Governments and multi-national companies look to the analytical skills of trained economists to help provide solutions to complex problems. This course blends the distinctive characteristics of practice-driven education in an international context. It is innovative in its provision by incorporating elements of the existing subject areas

Entry Requirements

Candidates should possess one of the following:

An honours degree in an appropriate agricultural, scientific or veterinary subject.
A good UK based HND or Foundation Degree or equivalent in an appropriate agricultural or scientific together with related industrial or professional experience of at least two years.
A Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate or equivalent.
To apply for this course a degree indicating basic quantitative and mathematical skills is required. You are expected to demonstrate some ability and interest in this area. Whilst formal techniques are taught as part of the MSc course, prior training in these areas is expected.
