Led by a research-active academic team, the course draws together developing and highly relevant topics, including molecular biology, proteomics, genomics, novel therapeutics and green (plant) biotechnology. You will explore how biotechnology can address a range of global challenges, including life expectancy, antibiotic resistance and sustainable agriculture.
Applicants should possess at least a UK lower second class honours degree (2:2) or equivalent in bioscience, biochemistry, pharmacy medicine or related subject.
This course is designed for applicants motivated by experimental science and with an interest in biology, biotechnology and biochemistry.
We welcome applications from science graduates and professionals who want to develop knowledge in biotechnology, and build relevant skills to work or pursue research in biomedicine, genomics, green biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must be applying for the first year of full-time study on an eligible postgraduate master’s programme in the 2021-22 academic year.
If you're a postgraduate applicant, you must hold an offer for an eligible programme, achieve a first-class degree and meet your offer conditions by the admission's deadline.
You may apply for this scholarship if you have already been awarded a different scholarship. However, in line with the terms and conditions, you can only receive one scholarship - the one with the highest value.
There is no separate application process for this scholarship. You will be assessed when you apply for your chosen programme of study for the 2021-22 intake. If you are successfully offered this scholarship, you must accept your offer of admission and pay your tuition fee deposit by the deadline specified in order to receive the funding.
