About the course
The programme creates a platform for understanding the involvement of surface science in biomedicine and biotechnology. You will get theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the areas of biomedical activities which require expertise beyond traditional disciplines of biomedicine, chemistry or biology.
Entry Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (180 credits) or equivalent with a major in chemistry, biochemistry, biomedical technology, biomedical methods and technology, biomedical laboratory science, or in other areas of natural, medical, engineering sciences or technology of relevance to the programme with a minimum of 15 credits in chemistry and/or biochemistry.
The equivalent of Swedish secondary school English B or English 6.

Malmö University administers scholarships for talented master's students from countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland. These scholarships are available for students admitted to master's programmes only.
Malmö University offers a limited number of scholarships that cover the entire tuition fee to talented students.

**Who can apply?**
1- You are eligible for the Malmö University Master's Scholarship (MUMS) if you are:
-liable to pay tuition fee for university studies in Sweden, and admitted to an English-taught master's programme at Malmö University.
We generally grant 10 to 20 scholarships annually, each covering the full tuition fee for one student. Scholarships are awarded on basis of academic merit, experience and motivation. Students admitted to two-year programmes retain the scholarship for the second year if they successfully complete the first year of study and meet the progression criteria.

Eligible students receive an invitation to apply for the Master's Scholarship after the notification of selection results.
The scholarship application form contains three questions that applicants need to answer, after which applicants must submit a one-page CV. Students are assessed on answers in the application form, their experience as described in the CV, as well as their academic records from previous studies. Malmö University staff make an overall assessment of all complete and eligible applications and nominate candidates to the Head of Student Affairs, who make the final decision of scholarship nominations.
The Swedish Institute coordinates a number of different scholarship programmes that can be used for studies in the on-site master's programmes at Malmö University.
Application period open 2-9 February, 2018. Results announced on April 26.
SI grants scholarships to a large number of master’s programmes starting in the autumn semester 2018.
To begin with, apply for up to four master’s programmes at universityadmissions.se, between 16 October 2017 – 15 January 2018.
Then apply for an SI scholarship between 2-9 February 2018, follow the instructions in each country's specific link.

Fee-paying students, currently enrolled in a programme at Malmö University, who start their second or third year of studies in the upcoming Autumn Semester. Students must have completed all their courses included in the programme study plan prior to the time of application for the scholarship.
The selection of those awarded will be based solely on performance during the ongoing academic year.

Eligibility
Malmö University offers a number of scholarships for current fee-paying students who are performing with excellence in studies. The Malmö University Excellence Scholarship (MUES) is awarded as a tuition fee waiver for the upcoming academic year. It covers partial or up to the full tuition fee but does not cover other expenses, such as living expenses. Fee-paying students, currently enrolled in a programme at Malmö University, who start their second or third year of studies in the upcoming Autumn Semester can apply. Students must have completed all their courses included in the programme study plan before applying for the scholarship.
Application Procedure
The scholarship application round for the academic year 2022/23 will open at the end of the Spring Semester 2022.
Eligible students will receive more information on how to apply for the scholarship towards the end of the Spring Semester.
Since the scholarships are awarded based on results from the current academic year, the scholarship results are published in June, when students are expected to have completed all the year’s courses.
The number and value of MUES-scholarships awarded each year depend on the resources available.
