Memorial University’s Department of Biology is home to over 100 graduate students along with 30 full-time faculty members and numerous cross-appointment faculty from other academic departments. Approximately 20 researchers from outside Memorial University, many employed in government laboratories (agriculture, fisheries, forestry, and wildlife), hold adjunct appointments with the Department and contribute to the graduate program as co-supervisors and supervisory committee members.

Biology is also part of the interdisciplinary Cognitive and Behavioural Ecology (CABE) program, which offers both the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. Interested students should apply directly to the CABE program.

The MSc program involves courses and a thesis and can be completed in two years of full-time study.
