With a minimum of 40 credits and a maximum of 120 credits, you will take at least two modules to equip you with the necessary research skills. The programme also provides personalized expert supervision and weekly research seminars. To be eligible, you'll need a good 2:1 or first-class honours degree in a relevant field, along with a strong research project component. International students should have an IELTS score of 7 or equivalent.

About the course

This research masters programme will give you the opportunity to conduct research alongside staff at the forefront of their academic disciplines across the marine sciences. You will be supported within an active interdisciplinary learning environment, working on a research topic in collaboration with your supervisor leading to a formal postgraduate qualification.

Entry Requirements

You will need a good 2:1 or first class honours degree, or international equivalent, in an area of study appropriate to your project, and at least a 2:1 in the research project component of your degree.

An IELTS score of 7 or equivalent is required if you are an international student.
