Student Profile(s)

Janet Graham

"I chose the course because I wanted to take ownership of my own learning. I did not want to commit to another taught course where I would simply be passing assessments just to gain the qualification; I wanted to make this learning relevant and tailored to me and to undergo a different learning experience by generating my own syllabus. Being both architect and student of my course engaged me to a level I had never experienced before. I was able to study my area of interest, reflect upon my own practices and experiences as part of the learning process and use my own workplace as a resource for research. I was able to attend lectures, seminars and workshops from various faculties within the University which were relevant to my area of study and was well supported by my supervisor and course leader. This was an excellent course and I enjoyed every moment of it. I felt empowered and motivated throughout and have a qualification I am extremely proud of."

Andrew Hill

"My experience so far has been very positive and the flexibility of Staffordshire University’s approach is helping me to make more of the course than I expected."
