About the course

Develop the confidence, expertise and practical skills to become a professional art therapist and help change lives for the better.

You will learn how to use art therapy to support people with very different emotional and mental health needs to feel a sense of inclusion and bring about positive changes to their lives. You will also develop your knowledge and experience by studying the theories that lie at the heart of art therapy.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should normally have at least a second class honours degree in Fine Art, Art Therapy, Humanities, Psychology, Social Sciences or Science. Professionals including Teachers, Social Workers, Nurses and others working in the caring professions will be considered.

Applicants must have evidence of some relevant pre-course experience in a caring profession. Those applicants who do not have graduate qualifications in fine art will need to submit a substantial and developing body of current artwork and demonstrate ongoing commitment.

Satisfactory DBS checks will be required by all applicants. Suitable candidates will be required to attend an interview and bring a portfolio.
