Make global connections on this Masters course in Architectural Engineering at Liverpool John Moores University. Learn about sustainable technologies and improving building performance through design at postgraduate level to enhance your career.
•Course available to study full time (1 year) and part time (2 years) •Designed as a specialist Masters course for holders of first degrees in architecture and architectural technology, construction management, engineering and related built environment disciplines •Part time option if you are already in employment •Opportunity to engage in multi-disciplinary project work •Internationally recognised research in our Built Environment and Sustainable Technologies (BEST) Research Institute
This new MSc programme aims to develop your range of knowledge, understanding and practical skills, including CAD software. Your Masters skills will help you progress in a variety of roles within the built environment sector.
You will have the training to become a problem-solving architectural engineer or architectural technologist who is able to work in a multi-disciplinary environment and produce creative, sustainable design solutions to an advanced standard.
•extend your understanding of current and emerging sustainable technology and practices •develop analytical, critical and problem solving skills appropriate to evaluating and improving building performance with design solutions •have clear career development opportunities in areas allied to architectural engineering, technology and management •develop your skills as an independent researcher and creative problem solver in the architectural engineering sector
When you graduate you will be able to:
•demonstrate knowledge of the fundamental concepts and principles of architectural engineering as a sustainable built environment discipline •demonstrate critical understanding of the implications of design, environmental and management issues of information modelling that are relevant to architectural engineers •apply appropriate technical solutions following the analysis and evaluation of complex design problems •use CAD software proficiently for architectural engineering purposes
