Entry Requirements

minimum second-class (2:2) Honours degree or overseas equivalent
mathematical training to A Level or equivalent standard
prospective students with relevant experience or appropriate professional qualifications are also welcome to apply
for Australia and Canada, normal degrees in relevant disciplines are accepted

Applicants are required to have some prior mathematical knowledge, for example A Level or equivalent in:

calculus
linear algebra
differential equations

Scholarships

Scholarships of £1,500 are available to new students joining one of our online programmes in the 2023/2024 academic year.

- MSc Applied Statistics
- MSc Applied Statistics in Health Sciences
- MSc Applied Statistics in Finance
- MSc Applied Statistics with Data Science

Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis to candidates who demonstrate excellent academic performance (current and/ or previously gained) and any relevant extra-curricular or professional experience.

Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis. Awards may be allocated early in the application cycle and so making an early application for admission is advised.

Eligibility

In order to be considered for a Faculty of Science Online Masters Scholarship, candidates must:

Be a new student holding an offer of admission for an online MSc in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics for the 2023/2024 academic year.
Be self-funded. Students who receive full scholarships, for example from a government office or embassy, will not be eligible.
