Course Description

The only distance learning, postgraduate qualification in sport and exercise psychology offered by a university in the UK. Course tutors have a wealth of research and consultancy experience and come from both the Sport and Exercise Department and the Psychology Department. It offers a unique opportunity to study for postgraduate qualifications at a time and place convenient for the learner. Part-time study mode allowing you to 'earn while you learn'.

Course outline

The award is for individuals interested in the exciting and growing field of sport and exercise psychology. The aim of the award is to provide students with a critical understanding of current issues relating to the application of psychological theory to sport and exercise settings. It has been developed for individuals who possess an appropriate honours degree in sport science (or related topic). The course is part-time, taking two years to complete, and is delivered in a distance learning format through a Virtual Learning Environment.

Entry Requirements

A degree in sport science, or related subject (minimum 2ii classification). In addition, applicants with alternative backgrounds and a degree level qualification will also be considered if they are able to demonstrate the potential to work at Masters level and have experiences relevant to a course covering the discipline of Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology.
