The MSc programme in Applied Physics combines general engineering with cutting-edge insight into physics.
Recent advancements in nanotechnology, seismic exploration, robotics, medical imaging, biophysics, communications technology and energy-efficient industrial processing all rely on exploring the mechanisms and limits of the physical world. TU Delft trains its physicists for these types of challenges.
This programme, taught fully in English, offers the following tracks: - Bionanoscience - Imaging Science and Technology - Multiscale Physics - Nanoscience - Radiation, Radionuclides and Reactors
Within this last track, students may focus on nuclear science and engineering. In addition, six specializations allow students to focus on Entrepreneurship, Research and Development, Astronomy and Instrumentation, Management of Technology, Sustainability in Technology or Education.
The first year of the programme consists of lectures and practicals; the second year is primarily devoted to research and thesis work. Some specializations also allow for an internship.
Applied Physics graduates contribute to advancements in industry, research institutes and academia.
