About the course

If you’re a dental professional and you’d like to mentor others our Advanced Certificate Mentoring in Dental Practice is for you. The course will equip you to support others to fulfil the requirements of professional practice in dental care.

This is a double module worth 40 credits for would be mentors. The programme consists of a mix of online workshops and self-directed study over the course of six months. The course includes the practical application of mentoring in your own practice.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must be experienced dentists/dental care professionals currently registered with the General Dental Council with the ability to benefit from study at Level 7 and willing to undertake the role of mentor in dental practice.

Evidence of undertaking formal preparation in the development of others e.g. Advanced Certificate Facilitation of Learning in Healthcare Practice, PGCE, Cert Ed, Preparing to teach in the Lifelong learning sector will normally be required.

For candidates without a teaching qualification attendance at an additional one day “Supporting Learning” workshop will be required during the course.
