Course content

The Coventry University Advancing Physiotherapy Practice MSc is a taught postgraduate course offering full-time and part-time options.

Students complete six 20 credit modules, plus a 60 credit dissertation in order to earn a full Master of Science degree.

This clinically focused course will develop your knowledge and skills in assessment, clinical reasoning and treatment, in the core areas of physiotherapy practice.

The course aims to produce therapists who have strong clinical and communication skills, who can also influence practice and service delivery, working in line with government initiatives.


You will have the opportunity to:

-Gain in-depth knowledge of the theory underpinning evidence based physiotherapy

-Reflect and apply theoretical knowledge to physiotherapy practice

-Gain the skills, concepts and knowledge related to advanced physiotherapy practice to strengthen a career in physiotherapy,

-Critically analyse relevant literature

-Evaluate clinical practice

-Gain the appropriate intellectual skills, in order to meet the advancing_physiotherapy_msc3demands of a more advanced professional role

-Understand the importance of research and the evaluation of clinical outcomes in the development of professional knowledge and practice


This course will equip you with advanced physiotherapy skills to develop your clinical practice and service delivery. It will enhance your employability and potential to move into higher positions in physiotherapy.


To prepare students for the challenges of the global employment market and to strengthen and develop their broader personal and professional skills Coventry University has developed a unique Global Leaders Programme.

The objectives of the programme, in which postgraduate and eligible undergraduate students can participate, is to provide practical career workshops and enable participants to experience different business cultures.
