The two year Postgraduate Diploma course involves a combination of intensive campus based teaching with 2300 hours of practice learning in a range of practice placements in healthcare settings. Successful completion of the programme confers eligibility to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Registered Nurse (Adult). The Postgraduate Diploma represents two thirds of a Master’s degree and the opportunity exists to ‘top up’ to a full MSc by undertaking a dissertation module after successful completion of the Postgraduate Diploma. The programme also enables applications who are already graduate nurses to gain registration in a second field of practice.
