''I have previously completed my BA (English) degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and my first MA degree in Theatre and Performance Studies at King’s College London. I was keen to continue intense training as an artist to fulfil my dream, therefore I continued searching. During my search about trainings online, I came across this course MA Actor Musicianship at Rose Bruford and had instantly grown interest in it simply because I love both theatre and music. I could not resist the temptation, so I embarked on an innovative journey that felt absolutely right!

I enjoyed how I get to learn about musicality and acting altogether - taking instruments into part of the artistic practice and process is something I have never ventured before. The concept is very new, but it totally makes sense. It opens so much interdisciplinary practices opportunities, and the course itself and teachers have been very open-minded and welcoming about our artistic choices or pathways.

We had a chance to perform to the outside audience on a tour in various primary schools for a whole week, collaborating with Primary Shakespeare Company. This has been hugely a valuable experience for me as we get real-world experiences that gave us a chance to learn, but at the same time also something to write on our resumes. There has been a lot of devising as well during rehearsals which I have never come across before, but it has been a good skill for me to grasp in this year.

I am hoping I can sign with an agent and get TV/film/theatre jobs after I graduate - literally anything. It would be crucial for me to understand the industry here in the UK if I get to land on any jobs with any agent. After some time/years of experience, I might want to develop full-time professionally on my own theatre projects related to Hong Kong.''

''Before attending the Actor-Musicianship MA at Rose Bruford, I completed a BA at the University of Bristol in Ancient History. I had done a few professional acting jobs before starting the course, but still wanted more training. I chose the Actor-Muso course, as I had grown up playing in orchestra's as well as acting, but I had never combined the two. I was aware that Rose Bruford had an extremely good reputation for this course and knew that I had to apply. I loved that the course pushed me outside my comfort zone and encouraged me to try different instruments, as well as think differently about the one I had grown up playing. The course provided me with the opportunity to work with the fabulous company Wise Children, as well as make so many connections that have served me well in the professional world. Since I graduated, I have had a couple of professional gigs in the actor-muso/children's theatre world which have been fantastic. Of course I have a day job, but I plan to keep on auditioning and tackling anything that comes my way!''
