We've been helping students find the right postgraduate course for over a decade.
College of Engineering, Mathematics & Physical Sciences at Exeter University offers you the chance to study at postgraduate level in a supportive environment with excellent facilities and amenities. We have excellent standards of teaching and research and a strong postgraduate community. Our location offers you the security and atmosphere of a separate campus, but within walking distance of an up-and-coming city centre.
The College has a range of lecture theatres that all feature state-of-the art presentation equipment to help ensure interaction between lecturers and students. The computing facilities are described by the Guild of Students as "the best supply of computers in the University" and all our labs and workshops are supported by a team of highly trained technical staff.
A THRIVING POSTGRADUATE COMMUNITY
The University is home to around 3,500 postgraduate students and the College itself has around 150 postgraduates. There is a wide selection of self-catering accommodation for postgraduates, including family flats, and we have an on-campus nursery. We also have a dedicated postgraduate centre, which incorporates computer and research materials as well as leisure facilities. The University is home to over 100 societies’ and has excellent sports facilities for all abilities.
A VIBRANT CITY
Exeter itself is the regional capital city and has excellent transport links and amenities. There are direct trains from Exeter St. David’s to London Paddington and Birmingham New Street, both of which take approximately 3 hours’ journey time.
Exeter has a population of 118,800 and is notable for its low crime rate. The city has a relaxed atmosphere and provides year-round entertainment to suit all tastes. Every summer Exeter plays host to a large-scale arts festival featuring many international performers from a vast range of disciplines. Our high quality of life has encouraged many major firms, most recently the Met Office, to relocate here. Devon enjoys one of the mildest climates in the UK.
The surrounding countryside is another benefit; the university is within easy reach of areas of outstanding natural beauty, such as Dartmoor, Exmoor and the Devonshire coast.
A BEAUTIFUL LOCATION
The College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences is based on the University’s Streatham campus, which covers 250 acres of landscaped parkland. The campus is only 10 minutes’ walk from the train station and 15 minutes’ walk from the city centre. Students describe the campus’ atmosphere as “personal, friendly and safe”. The campus also houses a shopping centre, bars and Exeter’s main theatre, The Northcott.
