Centennial College's Project Management program provides you with solid fundamental knowledge to manage projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Fully licensed by the Project Management Institute as a Registered Education Provider, this School of Business program is intended for applicants who previously completed a post-secondary education in any discipline.

The Project Management courses follow A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, (PMBOK® Guide) – Fifth Edition, 2013 Project Management Institute, Inc. The use of this guide is enhanced by a curriculum that includes hands-on integration of technology tools such as Microsoft Project and leading-edge industry case studies with a focus on organizational leadership.

A full-time, 14-week experiential learning opportunity (internship) with a participating organization allows you to gain valuable project management experience. During this time, you are required to participate in an online course and prepare assignments related to the experiential learning opportunity. The experience can be used towards work requirements for the PMI® designation.

This program is suited for college and university graduates from any discipline who wish to increase their employability by working towards a globally recognized certification in project management. It is also ideal for experienced project managers seeking to bring a new dimension of leadership to their work environment and for leaders who want to manage innovation in a structured manner.

Industries often develop new and innovative opportunities through projects that are delivered on time and on budget. Project managers oversee a company's projects from start to finish, ensuring each facet is executed with skill and efficiency.

Delivery Model

The Graduate Certificate in Project Management at Royal Roads University offers the unique advantage of a five-day on-site residency, followed by two online courses, and concluding with a final three-day on-site residency. This structure provides working professionals an opportunity to benefit from the synergy of an on-campus experience and to learn through the online medium while still meeting professional and personal responsibilities.

Residency
Students can expect the residency periods to be quite rigorous. The regular schedule for residencies is from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Homework, readings and team assignments are completed outside of these hours so it is recommended that you keep your evenings available for these activities.

Online Learning
The online portion of our Graduate Certificate programs takes place over the Internet. There are deadlines for assignments; however, students work through the requirements of the course at their own pace. Several different information delivery methods are used, including textbooks, articles, case studies, interactive learning and "chat" bulletin boards for corresponding with your team members, who may be on the other side of the country. Students are assigned to a team during the first residency and continue to work together during the online courses.

The two online courses are taken consecutively and each course lasts for a period of 9 weeks. Each course requires a level of effort of approximately 12 - 17 hours per week. During the first online course, the amount of time required may be higher as learners familiarize themselves with our online learning platform.
