University of Roehampton

A close-knit community of learning that transforms our students’ lives

A close-knit community of learning that transforms our students’ lives

At Roehampton, we change lives by helping our students develop the confidence, knowledge and adaptability they need for a successful graduate career and fulfilling life.

Our students support, encourage and challenge each other in a friendly and inclusive community.

We have a proud history in higher education stretching back more than 175 years. Through the oldest of our four colleges, we have been providing higher education to women for longer than any other university in the country.

Our values come from this rich history, built on community, engagement and partnership, with a belief that no matter their background, we can help our students realise their ambitions.

As a Roehampton student, you will be taught by inspiring lecturers, who are leading experts in their fields and are passionate about what they teach. You will have access to world-class facilities for teaching and research, and have access to the resources and support you need to succeed.

Research that changes the world and helps our students learn

We are committed to understanding and improving our world through a spirit of curiosity and discovery. With international reach, our research informs policy, enriches culture and improves people’s lives.

As a postgraduate student, you will work alongside leading experts and students from all over the world, whichever field of study you pursue.

Support beyond your studies

As a Roehampton student, you will have learning, financial and careers support throughout your studies. We offer financial support, including hardship funds, scholarships and access to personal advice on budgeting.

You will have access to mental health support, professional counselling and our friendly wellbeing staff, should you want someone to talk to confidentially. You will also be able to use our on-campus medical centre.

You will also have opportunities to develop your skills and interests beyond your subject of study, including online and face-to-face career support, part-time work opportunities and the chance to get involved in sport, music and wider student life.

London’s campus university

Our parkland campus is in south west London, close to Putney, Hammersmith and Wimbledon, and within easy reach of central London. Studying with us will give you the best of both worlds: the community feel of a traditional university campus, with the culture and nightlife of one of the greatest cities in the world.

We have first-rate facilities, including modern teaching rooms and an award-winning library. The campus helps create a close-knit community that will help you feel at home. You can experience the campus first-hand by attending one of our open days.
