Brighton Business School's postgraduate courses are designed to give you the best possible preparation for career success. We work closely with professional bodies and business leaders to make sure that whatever the state of the job market when you graduate, you’ll be well prepared.
Brighton Business School has over 70 research-active staff. As well as making a meaningful contribution to industry, our research ensures our courses are up to date, interesting and relevant.
Our research seminars and conferences provide a forum for advanced academic debate. They are designed to acquaint staff and postgraduate students with the latest research developments.
Professional bodies accrediting our postgraduate courses include the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), The Law Society, the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
Brighton Business School has been selected by the Institute of Directors (IoD) as their partner of choice in the Sussex area. The partnership provides all of our postgraduate students with IoD membership. This gives you access to the institute’s mentoring, forums, events and work placement opportunities.
We believe that learning from business practitioners is a vital part of the student experience. That's why we incorporate guest lectures into our curriculum. Speakers from industry are regularly invited to discuss curriculum topics, so you get professional insights into contemporary business issues.
Brighton Business School is a truly international place to study. It attracts students and staff from over 80 countries across the world. This rich mixture of nationalities and cultural backgrounds, along with our global outlook, gives the university an inclusive and cosmopolitan feel.
We have been running business courses for 40 years, so we have the experience to ensure you get the most out of your time at Brighton.
Relationships between tutors and students are professional and supportive. Class sizes are small enough for there to be a personal and friendly atmosphere where staff know students by name and can support their progress.
Studying at postgraduate level involves a number of new challenges, the most obvious being the independent nature of the course and the increased expectations in terms of being critical and being original. To support you with the transition to postgraduate level study you will be allocated a supervisor who is an expert in research who has been appointed to guide and support you through the process of writing your dissertation.
Most of our lecturers have experience of working in business and many continue to work as consultants with leading businesses and organisations. This enables them to provide business insights based on practical experience. Companies that our tutors have worked for include 3M, American Express, Bank of America, Exxon-Mobil, Fujitsu, Home Office, ICI, Jaguar, JP Morgan Chase, Kraft, MOD, NHS, Price Waterhouse, Royal Bank of Canada and TNS Market Research.
There is always something interesting happening in Brighton. Situated on the south coast of England, the city is bright, upbeat and unconventional. It is no wonder that many Brighton graduates choose to stay here.
Brighton is a city with global connections. Gatwick Airport is a 30-minute journey by road or rail and Heathrow Airport is less than 70 miles away. The M23 provides fast access to London and to other parts of the UK. You can be in London in under an hour by train.
