Overview

Students completing this course will work in a wide range of organisations, primarily consultancies, large companies, and government departments, in areas such as psychological assessment, employee or organisational development, evaluation of programs or human factors, strategic human resources management, and even executive/managerial roles.

The course includes a set of core units of study together with 1000 hours of placement experience organised by the university and available in a variety of workplace settings.

Students are eligible for general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia once they have completed all components of the degree.

Places will be granted according to academic merit and other selection criteria and awarded to the most highly ranked applicants who have been granted a firm offer. Students do not need to apply separately for this.

IELTS of 7.0 overall with minimum 7.0 in each band, or equivalent

All applicants for undergraduate or postgraduate coursework studies at Macquarie University are required to provide evidence of proficiency in English.

You may satisfy the English language requirements if you have completed:
- senior secondary studies equivalent to the NSW HSC
- one year of Australian or comparable tertiary study in a country of qualification

Notes

- Applications close 31 October each year, for commencement in the following year.
- International applicants are required to provide the Australian Psychological Society (APS) assessment of their qualifications. The APS assesses the level at which the applicant’s qualifications are comparable to an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) sequence of study in psychology. Applications lacking this assessment will not be processed. There is a cost for this service.

- Accreditation
The degree is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council and approved by the College of Organisational Psychologists. Completion of the Master of Organisational Psychology leads to registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and endorsement as an organisational psychologist in Australia.
