We've been helping students find the right postgraduate course for over a decade.
Masters degrees in Animal Pharmacology examine the effects of drugs on animals, along with the characteristics and potential uses of these drugs.
Other postgraduate specialisms in this field of Veterinary Science include Animal Pharmacy, Animal Toxicology and Animal Health. Most courses require prospective students to have completed an undergraduate degree in a relevant biological science.
Combining laboratory and lecture-based teaching, these courses give you a well-rounded overview of the interactions between drugs and animal bodies.
You’ll investigate the reasons why certain drugs act the way they do, looking at the chemical mechanisms and processes behind that behaviour. You might also explore ways in which drugs can be made more efficacious, perhaps adapting them for different kinds of animal.
There are lots of postgraduate career opportunities in Veterinary Pharmacology, ranging from jobs in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries through to work for charities, animal welfare organisations and veterinary practices.
