We've been helping students find the right postgraduate course for over a decade.
Masters degrees in Animal Cell Biology examine the structure and development of animal species at the cellular level. They equip students to appreciate zoological diversity that might be invisible to the naked eye and to understand how these microscopic properties shape animal ecology, evolution and disease.
These are advanced courses, designed for postgraduates with previous education in the Biological Sciences. They typically award taught MSc or research-based MRes and MPhil qualifications.
Animal Cell Biology has important implications for other fields of Biology, Medicine and the wider Life Sciences. You’ll become an expert in advanced biological theory as well as the practical laboratory techniques required for effective analysis and research.
Your Masters will equip you well for further work in a range of areas, from evolutionary science and ecology to the development of new veterinary treatments and techniques.
Potential employers are likely to include laboratory-based organisations, but these may have diverse aims and concerns: from investigating animal diseases to developing new nutritional products.
Opportunities for a career in academic research are also available to students who go on to PhD study after their Masters.
