About Academic Studies in Education
Masters degrees in Academic Studies in Education equip postgraduates with the skills to engage with and critically reflect upon the education system. This includes an examination of governance, curriculum standards, and learning processes.
Courses range from taught MA and MEd (Master of Education) degrees, to research oriented MRes and MPhil programmes. Entry requirements normally include an appropriate undergraduate degree such as Education Studies or Business Management.
Courses in this field help you to explore the means to improve group learning and academic efficiency across a range of academic institutions. Training will cover topics such as professional practice, learning process and management, special needs education, as well as funding and legislation.
These Masters also offer opportunities for you to specialise in a specific form of education, such as primary, secondary and higher education, or even or by subject, such as religious education, physical education and so on.
Careers could include working with charities to educate those in developing countries, roles in public policy or positions in local government departments, or management of a higher education institution such as a secondary school or university.
