This primary teacher education course is designed for graduates who are committed to becoming primary school teachers. It trains you to teach the three to seven age range.

As a trainee, you will learn how to teach the entire primary curriculum as well as choosing a particular route. The Early Years route is designed for graduates who are interested in teaching children aged three to seven, but this will not restrict you to working with this age group.

East London offers multicultural, multilingual and vibrant schools in which to learn, but your training at UEL will qualify you to teach anywhere in England or Wales.

UEL’s PGCE team is made up of experienced practitioners who have worked in a range of primary and Early Years settings across London as classroom teachers, curriculum co-ordinators, advisory teachers and school leaders.

At UEL you will be part of a diverse community of students. We want to bring to east London a teacher workforce that reflects the local community and, in 2013-14, 24 per cent of our Primary PGCE trainees were men.

The Professional Landscape Architecture programmes at UEL are a recent addition to the courses accredited by the Landscape Institute, the professional body for Landscape Architects within the UK.

The MA in Professional Landscape Architecture is a programme for those who hold either a Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture or a Landscape Institute accredited ‘conversion’ qualification and a degree in another discipline.

At UEL, through design studio, live projects, and investigation of theory, we explore key issues in contemporary life - migration, inequality, climate change, urban growth, food security - through Landscape Architecture, employing knowledge, tools and models in use, and in development globally. We investigate our understandings of these ideas with passion and commitment; we explore the ways in which landscape, nature and place are socially, as well as physically, ‘constructed’. We seek to develop critical awareness and personal understanding of landscape, and from this, to cultivate an individual, considered approach, primarily to the design of publicly accessible places. Our teaching supports the acquisition of the skills and knowledge that we know are relevant to professional practice now, while developing personal trajectories for the future, within this broad professional field.

The MA in Professional Landscape Architecture leads directly into the Landscape Institute’s Pathway to Chartership.

The Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsych) course provides a comprehensive training programme comprising concurrent academic teaching (on average two days per week) and clinical work placements based mainly in the NHS (on average three days per week). The overarching purpose of the training course is to supply highly competent clinical psychologists for the NHS and related settings.

Please view the full Trainee Person Specification if you are interested in this course.

On successful completion of training you will meet the Health and Care Professions Council's requirements for registration as a Practitioner Psychologist. You will also satisfy the British Psychological Society’s Committee on Training in Clinical Psychology requirements (BPS, CTCP) for becoming a Chartered Psychologist.

You will participate in a broad-based clinical-academic programme, designed and taught by a diverse core team, selected invited external speakers and NHS specialists. The course covers all of the major theoretical and clinical approaches to clinical psychology.

This training course requires you to fulfil two main minimum criteria in order to apply. You need at least a year’s experience of paid relevant clinical-academic work, such as an assistant psychologist in the NHS or a research assistant. And you need strong academic qualifications, i.e. at least an upper 2:1 degree in Psychology (which grants Graduate Basis for Registration with the BPS).

During the training course you will be robustly assessed to evaluate your clinical performance, academic achievement and your ability to integrate these two elements. As this is a doctoral-level programme, you will need to be able to work at this standard and produce an original research thesis by the end of training.

All applications must be made via the Clearing House for Postgraduate Courses in Clinical Psychology, click 'Apply' to find out more.

This established course opens the door for you to step straight into youth work. Only one other provider in London offers a postgraduate JNC qualification as part of a master’s course.

With 600 mandatory hours of practice learning to add to UEL-based learning, it is a demanding, but rewarding, commitment.

You will develop the ability to build confidence and trust in others, to deal with challenging behaviour and to engage, support and mentor young people in London – a dynamic environment for youth and community work.

Our former students often supervise our current students in a professional capacity and you will be taught by experienced people who share your passion. The UEL tutors are locally based. They have strong links with and are active within the sector.

Tracie Trimmer-Platman has just set up a new community youth project in Hackney Wick in a voluntary capacity, while Paul Adams is a member of the youth committee of Y Care International, a relief and development agency which works in partnership with YMCAs worldwide.

The course is aimed at architecture graduates wishing to specialize in advanced digital design processes, and at those within the ‘built environment’ – such as planners, psychologists, quantity surveyors or designers

Along the course Advanced Architectural Design, Parametric Urban Design, Digital Manufacturing will be developed across the year following a common digital platform which simulates the state of the art of design processes in contemporary architectural practices. The goal is experimenting new possibilities for architectural spaces and cities connecting the design to advanced fabrication techniques and sustainable strategies in order to generate a research leading to a secure impact in the industry.
