This postgraduate professional program is designed to develop graduates to be work-ready for careers in nutrition and dietetics across practice areas including clinical dietetics, private practice, food service management, public health nutrition, sports nutrition and nutrition research. This program develops student competencies to exceed the accreditation requirements of the Dietitians Association of Australia, making graduates eligible to apply for accredited practising dietitian (APD) status within the Dietitians Association of Australia. This program is distinctive because of its emphasis on developing evidence-based practitioners that have had intensive preparation in evidence-based dietetic practice, nutrition research and international engagement. The Bond University Master of Nutrition and Dietetic Practice program uses an education model comprising a combination of lectures, workshops, case studies, field trips, simulations, internships and research. In keeping with the program philosophy of producing dietitians with a difference, the program places an emphasis on real-world experience from the first semester. Nutritional science is a subject of growing importance in many aspects of healthcare, lifestyle and industry. This Human Nutrition degree, established since 1994 and accredited by the Association of Nutrition (AfN), provides students with an expert evidence-based approach to human nutrition, integrating teaching on basic sciences, clinical practice and public health applications.
The programme provides a thorough grounding in the principles, practice and research of human nutrition and the opportunity to follow a successful career in the UK or overseas. Subject to satisfactory results, students progress on to a research project in the area of their specialisation. This Masters course is designed to provide enthusiastic professionals with practitioner-led training in the Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM). We are based in Yorkshire, home to the highest concentration of Sport and Exercise Medicine trainees and consultants in the UK. This is a flexible course compromising of blended learning opportunities suitable for applicants in full-time employment.
Sports and Exercise Medicine is now a recognised training route by the GMC for clinicians. SEM is a key deliverable in new government strategies, demand for training has increased with portfolio GPs and GPwSI specifically interested in training for Sports Medicine, and an increasing expectation amongst professional sports clubs that team doctors should have undergone structured training programmes to Masters Level.

You’ll attend a two-day Immediate Care in Sport course in your induction week and arrange MSK clinics and club placements to give you the opportunity to apply your knowledge through practical experience.
You’ll also have access to our brand new sports facilities and labs, where Olympic athletes train.
The course will equip you with strong team working skills through its interdisciplinary approach to training. You’ll be equipped to work in teams of professionals with complimentary expertise such as strength and conditioning, team coaches, physiotherapists and acute injury settings.
Attendance is compulsory and will be approximately one and a half days a month (you will not be expected to be in every week). Recorded lectures of shared modules with other courses will be available to be viewed online, along with specified eLearning material.
Seminars will be recorded, where appropriate. Some practical sessions, group tutorials and specific teaching sessions will be compulsory.
Placements at appropriate professional clubs and NHS clinics will be organised, with some flexibility to negotiate clinic dates and times, and contacts will be provided for self-organised additional experience opportunities. Predominantly we use a case based approach; the eLearning each week will have a relevant case or scenario identified, and required reading and practical tasks set.

This multidisciplinary course draws together a broad range of biosciences subject matter within the areas of sport, exercise physiology, health and nutrition.
Content has been designed to develop your appreciation of the human body and its functions, together with nutrition science and its role in promoting human health so that you can apply this knowledge to develop appropriate dietary advice and exercise programmes.
We will consider the components of fitness, including nutritional requirements, energy expenditure, body mass and body composition, examining some of the common problems associated with general health and wellbeing, diet and nutrition, exercise and sport performance. These include diets, hydration and supplements, for example.
Covering how to scientifically measure nutritional requirements and dietary allowances of macronutrients, micronutrients and other metabolically active components of food such as fibre. We also consider the negative effects of things like food additives, tannins or drugs and how ethnic and culture may affect practical advice on foods, meals and menus.
As well as subject-specific knowledge, we will encourage a critical, analytical and flexible approach to problem-solving in sport and exercise nutrition. You will systematically and creatively explore complex issues, such as physical activity, nutrition and obesity, and elite physiological support through a variety of case studies, laboratory sessions and group work.
Our aim is to effectively prepare you for professional employment, so we focus on providing enhanced practical and professional skills through a combination of lectures, laboratory and field sessions and case studies. The nature of the course also enables topical aspects to be discussed, for example, the latest popular supplement for sports people or fad diet.
You are also required to complete in-depth research study in the area of sport and exercise science, so will receive training in research methods, including data analysis in both research and applied practice.
