The course is offered in both full-time and part-time mode in block learning format and
each has a specific attendance pattern:
The full-time mode requires all modules to be taken within one academic year (50 weeks) including the dissertation which is taken in Semester 3 (between May and September). In full-time block mode students attend 4 blocks of 5 consecutive days at approx. 3 week intervals across semesters 1 and 2 with attendance required for oral presentations and/or coursework submissions during the examinations period between semesters.
The periods between blocks are used to undertake assignments and coursework during which the student is encouraged to maintain contact with the Module Coordinator and classmates via on-line discussion forums such as Blackboard Collaborate.
Your course is professionally accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
In addition, the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Association for Project Management (APM), the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), and Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineering (CIBSE) have considered the award to be of significant assistance for individuals in gaining professional qualifications on a case by case basis.

The Master of Valuation and Property Development ensures graduates can demonstrate an integrated understanding of the complex body of property knowledge and skills in this field.
The Master of Valuation and Property Development is professionally recognised by some of Australia’s leading professional bodies. This allows graduates to differentiate themselves within the industry.
Further, the program is also delivered in intensive mode. Intensive Mode Delivery is a compact and time efficient way to complete a postgraduate qualification with minimal impact on professional and personal lifestyles. Subjects are generally delivered over two weekends during the semester with two sets of three-day sessions per subject, usually scheduled as Thursday to Saturday (approximately six to eight contact hours per day) with a break of four or five weeks between session one and session two of each subject.
Participants will receive 40 hours of combined lectures, discussion groups, case studies and workshops during contact hours. International students are required to be on campus every week.
The Master of Valuation and Property Development provides a wide range of skills that can be applied to global property markets. This program is designed to equip graduates with strong knowledge and advanced technical skills applicable to a variety of career paths such as investment, finance, asset management and research. The curriculum addresses a range of topics including finance and taxation, corporate portfolio management, risk identification and management, feasibility analysis, law, property valuation and market analysis. This degree provides the opportunity to specialise in Property Valuation.
The structure of the Master of Valuation and Property Development is based on theoretical and practical subjects. This program is designed in close consultation with prominent industry professional boards to ensure the integrity and contemporary relevance of the degree.
This program enables graduates to exit after four subjects with a graduate certificate, after eight subjects with a graduate diploma or complete 12 subjects for a master’s degree.

This course aims to create reflective practitioners in quantity surveying who have a knowledge and understanding of procurement and financial management and recognise the significance of process, technology and people to the success of mechanical and electrical projects. The MSc award consists of four taught modules followed by a dissertation. The PgDip requires the completion of the four taught modules. All modules are delivered over a 15 week period and are mostly assessed through coursework, there are no exams. A 30 credit taught module is studied per semester. Assessment of these modules is driven by real-world problems aligned to your workplace and job role. Teaching is based around a virtual learning environment supported by interactive online sessions. In the final two semesters you will undertake a dissertation which is also delivered online and incorporates extensive tutor engagement and support.
Studying via distance learning, you’ll enjoy access to an online learning environment supported by intensive tutor support. Weekly online tutorials are led by tutors with student interaction. There is currently a severe skills shortage in the UK for quantity surveyors with expertise in mechanics and electrics, consequently, graduate employability statistics for this course are high. Due to the increased importance of sustainability in the modern built environment, new roles are emerging for the mechanical and electrical quantity surveyors quantity surveyor in the areas of renewable energy, sustainability, low carbon technologies and energy management. With buildings accounting for around 50% of all carbon emissions, the surveyor plays a significant role in combating climate change.
This course has been designed to help you plan and organise the procurement and financial management of mechanical and electrical projects. Our course will equip you with the skills required to critically examine existing construction practices while evaluating alternative strategies to set in motion a process for improvement in construction. You will graduate with the skills and knowledge demanded by clients who rely on a quantity surveyor's knowledge and judgement to keep a project running smoothly.
This course was developed at the request of industry to meet the training needs of aspiring mechanical and electrical specialists, and to help plug the skills gap which currently exists in the UK. Guest lecturers from industry with expertise in relevant areas regularly give lectures throughout the duration of the course.

With advanced degrees in Engineering, Management and Law from world class universities and relevant industry experience, he is the rare type of well rounded professional hybrid able to communicate with a wide range of functional managers/directors in organisations on a highly informed basis. His experience has been built on direct employment in roles involving the negotiation and administration of large infrastructure projects and employment as an academic and consulting with industry on best practice in the procurement of products, works and services. He has undergone world class training in negotiation (in the Harvard Business School), membership and chairing of dispute boards on major international infrastructure projects (by the international Dispute Resolution Board Foundation based in Seattle) and mediation (by CEDR, the London-based international Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution).
