Our part-time by supported open learning programme is primarily aimed at individuals who are working full-time and need to balance study with work and home commitments. It employs supported open learning, a flexible learning model which uses a mixture of different methods of study. It is open to home students (UK and EU), who are required to study approximately 12 hours a week over slightly under three years. The full-time mode of study is open to Home, EU and International students and is completed at the Greenwich Campus over a 12 month period. EDUCATIONAL AIMS OF THE PROGRAMME

The need for an Investment Management programme arises from the continuing global demand for professionals working in the fields of investment management, investment banking, pension funds, insurance companies and alternative investment partnerships (such as hedge funds, private equity and sovereign wealth funds).

An interdisciplinary programme, it draws on various disciplines to provide a critical perspective on contemporary education management. However, the programme also has a strong problem solving perspective, which situates education management in schools, colleges and universities within the current political, social and educational context, seeking to develop evaluation and decision making skills within practical educational situations.

Fieldwork

The Stackpole residential field course introduces students taking the “Principles of Environmental Dynamics” to some of the major themes of the module: environmental systems, sea-level change and human impact on the environment, in a congenial setting in Pembrokeshire. The environmental issues facing the Stackpole Estate are discussed and placed into a historical perspective through lectures and the analysis of long term environmental records.

We have specialist laboratory suites for: stable-isotope ratio analysis; tree ring analysis; extraction and identification of organic compounds; pollen extraction and analysis; rainfall simulation; tephra analysis; soil and sediment characterisation.

In addition, we have recently spent £1.8million on state-of-the-art teaching spaces, including IT facilities, laboratories and flexible teaching spaces.
