Offered jointly with the Department of Gender Studies, this program provides expertise in women’s and gender history as well as European history.
The. MA Islamic Intellectual History. is a programme on historical Islamic studies, offering in-depth study of the intellectual, religious and cultural history of the Islamic world, past and present, and of wider socio-political contexts.
The. MA Islamic Intellectual History and Intensive Langauge. is a programme on historical Islamic studies, offering in-depth study of the intellectual, religious and cultural history of the Islamic world, past and present, and of wider socio-political contexts.
This program is designed for students with a three-year bachelor’s degree in history or a bordering discipline. Jointly run with CEU’s Department of Medieval Studies, it offers two tracks.
The Department of Archaeology and History of Art offers a multi-disciplinary approach to the study of archaeology, the history of art and visual culture, cultural heritage management, and museum studies by employing the most recent theoretical and methodological approaches and a hands-on approach to learning.
Run jointly with CEU’s Department of History, the Medieval track of this program zooms in on the political, social, intellectual, religious and economic history, as well as the material and spiritual culture of the period between 300 and 1600 C.E.
This program is designed for applicants with a strong research agenda who already have an academic background in medieval history or related disciplines such as philology/literature, philosophy, art history or archaeology with a focus on medieval Latin, Slavonic, Byzantine or early modern Ottoman culture.
