The MSc Strategic Marketing programme has been developed in response to the increasing global focus on marketing as a highly strategic management function.

In the Summer term you will study how to apply leading edge strategies to marketing plan development and implementation. You will take part in an exciting Marketing Consulting Project for a real client organisation, develop a clear multi‑channel marketing plan for the Marketing Plan Competition and write a 5,000 word unsupervised report on a current strategic marketing topic.

The curriculum of MSc Marketing is made up of a set of compulsory core and elective courses that provide our students with all the necessary tools and knowledge required to successfully address today’s main marketing challenges.

The programme is comprised of three distinct stages, Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) Digital Marketing, Postgraduate Diploma (PGDIP) Digital Marketing, and MSc Digital Marketing Management, with a range of compulsory taught modules (120 credits), and a non-taught element (60 credits). Many of the assessments will be based on real world cases and therefore specialist guest speakers and visits to businesses will also form part of the learning journey. Moodle is used as an interactive VLE but the development of a learning community is particularly prevalent at Cardiff Metropolitan with excellent student support.
Assessment on the programme is mixed and will include a variety of formats . You are assessed throughout the course on the basis of coursework, presentations and examinations. Assessments take the form of examinations (seen/unseen, open book, essays/short answers), essays, practical assessment, presentations, individual and group reports, and a dissertation, many of which are focused on real-life cases studies.
