The MSc European and International Business Management is unique in the UK. You’ll live and study in three different European countries, giving you a truly international perspective on management.
It is delivered in partnership with two other centres of excellence:
The programme is taught in three languages: Spanish, French and English. You will spend the first term in Spain or France, the second in France or Spain, and the third at the School of Management in Bradford. You spend the final 12 weeks of the course on work placement or writing a report.
The MSc European and International Business Management includes some language tuition, but you must be competent in at least two of the three languages, and have the ability to become proficient in the third.
Studying the programme significantly widens your career opportunities and earning potential. You’ll, have operational experience in three major business cultures, with the transferable skills to adapt to others, and demonstrate your ability to thrive in a multilingual business environment. It also demonstrates your mobility, adaptability and flexibility, both physical and intellectual – attributes that are highly prized by leading global employers.
We are proud to be in an elite group of business schools to hold the triple accreditations of Equis, AMBA and AACSB, often referred to as the "Triple Crown".
The MSc in European and International Business Management is a joint award of the three Institutions (Universidad de Deusto, Audencia, and University of Bradford). The Master's awarded is officially recognised by the Ministerio de Educación in Spain.
The MSc European and International Business Management (EIBM) is an interuniversity postgraduate programme providing general business and management education to build on students’ previous educational backgrounds.
It covers all the main areas of Business Administration (Finance, Marketing & Logistics, Strategy, General Management, Socio-economic Context, Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility) with a very specific focus on European, international and multicultural organizations.
You have a choice of routes:
Taught modules focus on the foundations of business and management, and European management, with a range of electives
You also undertake a work placement, most often in a country whose language is not your first, and then write a report on the work placement, supervised by academics in Nantes or Bilbao.
Considerable emphasis is placed on teaching and learning in small groups, and on encouraging students to work together on projects such as group oral presentations and written reports.
Our graduates are in high demand amongst multinational organisations and international consultancy firms. There are also opportunities to establish or accelerate a career as a country or product manager, or develop an international perspective for your own business.
The sectors and jobs that our MSc students achieve upon graduation vary depending on their previous experience and pathway taken. In terms of looking at career progression it is useful to consider where alumni are three years after graduation. Looking at the data derived from the School’s continued ranking in the Financial Times Master’s in Management Rankings, alumni continue to operate in a variety of sectors and three years after graduation on average 25% of them are in senior manager roles and 20% in junior management positions.
Students have an opportunity to broaden their international experience by taking part in study tours embedded alongside our programmes throughout the year. These tours are provided by the Faculty where all expenses are covered. Previous tours have included trips to Bahrain (Ahlia University) and Qatar (Qatar University).
These tours help our students to gain knowledge about international business and entrepreneurship, as well as providing opportunities to practice and develop communication and interpersonal skills. Students are given a hands-on opportunity to apply the knowledge they have gained in class, all whilst becoming more aware of diverse cultures and strengthening international relationships.
Students take part in a dynamic mix of both theory and practice-related activities including: interactive problem-solving workshops, company visits, talks by guest speakers (from the public and private sector), cultural visits, and social activities.
The Effective Learning Service (ELS) is a dedicated facility within the School of Management, established to support our students to maximise their academic learning (eg assignments and examinations) as well as help overseas students adapt quickly to UK academic requirements.
The ELS provides a huge range of services, including various workshops run during term time, 1-1 consultations and vast printed and online resources to cater for every possible development area.
Most members of academic staff of the three institutions of the programme involved in delivering the teaching are research active.
Their research, be it in International Finance, European Business Management, Marketing or any other Management Science area, greatly contributes to enhancing your learning experience.
