The MSc in International Business and Marketing is designed to suit the needs of non-business undergraduates wishing to develop further their knowledge and skills in the field of international business and marketing. This programme capitalises on nearly 10 years' experience of teaching specialist business and management education, and has the following features:

The programme is designed for you if you are a graduate seeking a conversion degree to international business and marketing. The programme focuses on developing the managerial and general business knowledge skills required to operate successfully in a marketing role and excel in an international business environment. The programme is full time, and will typically take 12-15 months to complete, dependent upon the time required to complete the dissertation stage of your studies.

At Bognor Regis campus there is an integrated approach to the provision of learning resources and support. We offer a substantial collection of books, journals and other materials to help you further your research. A range of study areas for group and quiet study including Wi-Fi areas for laptop use are available, or you can use our open access PC and Mac areas. We use an electronic learning environment with an expanding portfolio of online library resources from anywhere at any time.
Our brand new award winning Learning Resource Centre is at the heart of the campus. It hosts a modern library service with areas for quiet and silent study on both floors. Also situated in the LRC is the Support and Information Zone, Costa Coffee and over 80 open access work stations. An equipment loans centre offers laptops, tablets and other electronic devices for short and long term loans.
We recently refurbished the Dome, the home for all Business courses at the University. The Dome hosts meeting rooms alongside PC and Mac workstations, alongside the lecture and seminar rooms.
You will develop the business and marketing knowledge, skills and cultural awareness to enable you to make an impact in an international commercial environment. After completing the course, you will have a strong grounding in international business and marketing and will be well placed to pursue careers in marketing relating to international business within a range of organisations or business environments.
The MSc International Business programme also provides the opportunity to focus on one of three specialised areas: International Business; International Marketing; or International Finance. The essential knowledge and skills required of international business managers are covered in Term 1. This leaves Term 2 to conclude with integrative modules (strategy and research methods) and specialist modules. The successful completion of your research project in Term 3 will enable you to gain your MSc in your chosen area.

The purpose of the dissertation is to complete an original and independent business research project.
The dissertation will develop your research, analysis, synthesis, and business writing skills.
The research project will focus on your chosen specialised area of International Business and Marketing.. Assessment To gain the Master's degree students need to complete eight modules and a dissertation of approximately 15,000-words.

Core modules will develop your understanding of international marketing in theory and practice.
You’ll learn how organisations use marketing research to understand their audience and complement this with an awareness of consumer behaviour in different cultures. Then you’ll examine how this information is turned into practical marketing strategies, with modules focusing on marketing communications and strategy as well as the challenges of international marketing.
From there, you’ll develop your knowledge by focusing on international services marketing and considering practical solutions to the problems of global supply chains. You’ll also choose an optional module in an area that interests you, such as social media marketing or corporate social responsibility. During the company marketing project, you’ll have the chance to work alongside an external organisation to research and develop strategies to address their marketing problems.
You can apply your research skills and knowledge to a dissertation which you submit by the end of the year, or you can take a different route. Our third semester consultancy projects give students the opportunity to work with a live business situation, make links with industry and gain work experience that can be exceptionally rewarding.

You’ll take nine compulsory modules, plus either a research dissertation or consultancy project.

This Masters programme in international business addresses key issues such as how multinational firms decide where and when to invest internationally, and how firms evaluate the opportunities and challenges they face in different countries.
Students will examine the strategies multinational firms use to compete in a global economy, as well as the development and policy challenges they create, from the perspectives of both developing and developed countries.
In addition to learning how firms are organised internally, students will take a holistic view of the international business environment, in terms of the competitiveness of firms and industries. Students will therefore be able to connect the 'micro' firm view with the 'macro' view of countries and regions.
