Over the last five years, students on this course have benefitted from developing projects to a live brief in their Marketing and Innovation modules.
Students are briefed by a brand owner or founder and they develop original research for them, which has in some cases resulted in work placements and prizes for the best students.

The idea of a Fashion Business Management MA was formulated in discussion with industry leaders. Building on the success of our Fashion Merchandise Management courses and in particular the close collaboration with industry we spoke extensively to senior fashion executives. Many felt that although doing an MA in Fashion Business Management would not ensure promotion, potential candidates who learn how to apply the knowledge they gain from the course can become leaders who can inspire others. The course is delivered with a mixture of lectures and seminars. Many of the assessments will be based on real world cases and therefore specialist guest speakers and visits to businesses will also form part of the learning journey. At Master’s level, self-management and independent research and study is expected with students being directed and encouraged to deepen their understanding of particular areas of Marketing. Moodle is used as an interactive VLE but the development of a learning community is particularly prevalent at Cardiff Metropolitan with excellent student support.

This programme employs a variety of learning and teaching methods including lectures, seminars, tutorials and group discussions. The modules will utilise methods of learning, teaching and assessment which are appropriate to Masters level study, such as group discussions, presentations, and report writing. Although a proportion of the contact time will be spent in teaching, emphasis will also be placed upon the use of group and independent learning. Master of Science in Fashion Management Curriculum
The Master of Science in Fashion Management consists of 90 ECTS credits and is offered on a full-time basis. The program consists of 2 consecutive semesters of courses (September – May) followed by a professional experience (from June onwards). The curriculum is developed around introductory courses to build a common managerial background; core management courses with a focus on the industry; and specialized courses in fashion. It also includes French or other foreign language courses.
This admission is open to students holding an undergraduate degree in any field from a recognized university with good academic performance and a good command of English.

By studying in three distinct locations, you will develop both a broad view of the global luxury industry as a whole, acquire the specialist knowledge required for success in this industry, learn how to navigate the specifics of these different business markets successfully, and in addition build the foundations for the intercultural competencies that working in a global industry requires.

The Management program is designed for students who wish to play an active role in managerial processes typical of companies operating in a global market. Students will explore areas critical to every business enterprise, including accounting, organizational behavior, business communication, and strategic management.
The course provides advanced training in the key areas of management and business administration in global contexts. The Business lab is the core of the program which foresees the integration of fifteen business partners divided into five themed sectors:

● Multinational firms
● Luxury and fashion
● Small and medium enterprises
● Healthcare organizations
The integration will be carried out through the involvement of testimonials, case studies, etc. as well as student participation in a field project or internship. Please note that students will be assigned to the project/internship based on the demand for each of the sectors and overall student performance.
