It provides you with a number of skills which are important in the pursuance of disaster management:

You also learn to to teach and train disaster medical management at health professions schools and perform research in order to contribute to the further development of disaster medicine as an academic discipline. Didactic Concept

The master consists of different parts that you must complete successfully:
 A structured, self-directed study under faculty guidance on competence-based didactic activities, integrated in an e-learning curriculum and provided on the EMDM website. The educational materials are reinforced by discussion forums and complemented by electronic simulation exercises
 A two-week residential session, during which you meet the faculty and interact in debates and exercises, assessing your ability to apply an integrated knowledge base, meant for solving problems in disaster situations
 A thesis related to a topic of disaster medicine or disaster medical management, under the supervision of a local tutor and a faculty member
 A final online examination provided on the Internet, composed of an electronic simulation exercise and a multiple choice questionnaire

Teaching methods

The Master will be based on:
 self-directed study under faculty guidance based on didactic activities integrated in an e-learning curriculum, provided on the Internet (http://www.dismedmaster.com);
This will allow the student:
-to learn the core content of the program and to decide what to study in a greater detail at different levels
-to interact with the Faculty and facilitators for a better understanding of difficult points
-to collaborate with other students to learn how to deal with team-work

 a residential session during which the students meet the faculty and peers to interact in debates, practical exercises and simulation exercises, meant for solving problems in disaster situations and assessing the student’s ability to apply an integrated knowledge base. The course, held in a location fixed by the Executive Committee, is scheduled for the next edition from May 24th to June 6th, 2014;

 a final on line examination provided on the Internet composed of an electronic simulation exercise of a disaster presenting medico-organisational and medical care problems and a multiple choice questionnaire on the content of the electronic textbook.

Mission

Professional rehabilitation counselors encourage and support persons with disabilities and their families to fully participate in their community by providing individual and group counseling, vocational assessment, case management, advocacy, assistive technology, and consultation services to help meet their personal, social, vocational, psychological, independent living, and quality of life goals. The mission of the Rehabilitation Counselor Education (RCE) distance-based program at the University of Alabama is to prepare professional rehabilitation counselors who will provide quality rehabilitation counseling services for persons with disabilities from diverse backgrounds and their families.

5. To provide our rehabilitation counseling graduate students with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop a philosophical orientation and approach reflective of their commitment to meeting the needs of persons with disabilities and their families, as well as employer and community needs.

6. To foster our university’s mission in advancing the intellectual and social condition of the people by communicating to our rehabilitation graduate counseling students the need for advocacy, community integration, and social responsibility.

7. To prepare our rehabilitation counseling graduate students to become ethical rehabilitation counselors by understanding and following the Code of Professional Ethics for rehabilitation counselors.

8. To promote the involvement of our rehabilitation counseling graduate students in rehabilitation counseling professional associations (e.g., National Rehabilitation Association, National Rehabilitation Counseling Association, American Rehabilitation Counseling Association, National Rehabilitation Counselors and Educators Association) to enhance awareness of professional issues and service that are important to the growth of our field.

The RCE master’s program is 48 semester hours in length. However, a 60-semester hour option is available for students who wish to pursue 60 hours of graduate coursework. The curriculum provides both didactic and experiential learning and culminates in a 600 hour internship under the supervision of a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. The RCE program is fully accredited by the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE). Students completing the RCE program are eligible to become Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC). The RCE program is an on-line program. Distance students must meet criteria for full or conditional admission. Distance students who can enroll for 9 hours (fall and spring) and 6 hours (summer) may complete the degree program in two calendar years. Some rehabilitation courses are offered as synchronous courses and will require weekly participation via live virtual classroom.

This programme aims to give you a scientific understanding of the cellular and molecular biology of cancer, its epidemiology and pathology, and to place this in a clinical context. You will then address how this knowledge effects therapeutic approaches and disease management.

It aims to allow you to understand the research process by drawing on examples within the department and its associated clinical trials unit. A key part of this Masters programme is the planning, execution and reporting of a piece of independent study leading to submission of a dissertation.

At all levels we aim to encourage interactive rather than didactic learning and lecturing. Therefore, in addition to assembling and learning facts you will also to consider some of the philosophical challenges which underlie the treatment of cancer.

The programme is studied part time over 2 years and includes a taught element plus a work place based dissertation. This is made up of 4 residential taught modules per year (8 in total). Taught modules consist of one or two 5 day blocks Monday to Friday approximately 9am - 5.30pm. The total taught element consists of 45-55 days of attendance over the whole programme depending on your choice of optional modules.

You can opt for a Postgraduate Diploma on completion of the core modules and 40 credits of optional modules, or an MSc on successful completion of the taught programme and an independently researched dissertation.

The programme is distinctive in its focus upon social and political movements, protest, and the less conventional and institutionalised forms of political action and participation, environmental politics and globalisation, but students with interests in other areas of more conventional and institutionalised politics are well catered for.

You will gain an understanding of the interaction and interdependence among social and political institutions, processes and action, especially collective action. The programme begins with a focus upon protest and social movements, and in the second term you may choose to focus upon either or both of environmental politics and / or processes of global social change and questions of political order. There is a wide range of optional modules from which to choose, and at the end of the programme, you should have a much enhanced understanding of processes of social and political change and the theoretical and methodological approaches to their interpretation and study.

Modular programme consisting of 180 credits, plus an additional 180 credits of non-modular supervised clinical work (360 credits in total) as follows:

(i) Two taught modules, covering the scientific and clinical basis of Paediatric Dentistry usually assessed by written examination;

(ii) One clinical module, involving supervised clinical practice and examined by a mixture of case studies on treated and unseen patients, practical, or oral examinations;

(iii) One research module assessed by a written research project report and an oral examination.

Career prospects

The majority of overseas graduates return to their own country to practice paediatric dentistry. Home students use this programme for career progression in the UK and are only accepted if they already have a UK (NHS) National Training Number and training at either KCH or GSTT. For UK trainees, the MSc counts towards 2 years of their NTN training. For those overseas students who do require a 3 year training, an additional third year is available (the PGCert) following on from MSc.

Endodontology, as a science, is the study of the prevention of apical periodontitis and, as a technique, explores the treatment of apical periodontitis. The Ashridge Masters in Executive Coaching is a two-year, part-time, modular, self-directed programme. It is an opportunity to review and re-launch your practice, make the best of your natural skills, learn about yourself as a coach through supervision and co-coaching, and meet some of the most experienced practitioners in the field.

You will develop your coaching and mentoring skills, either to integrate into your existing consultancy and coaching work or to create a solid foundation for a new coaching and consulting practice.

The programme takes a relational psychological perspective, which will deepen your clients’ self-awareness and their understanding of the web of key relationships in their organisation. The aim is to develop your ability to respond to, initiate and enable change through the coaching process.

This programme has been developed by experienced coaching practitioners who have a combination of research, psychological and organisational development experience. Two of the programme modules have been awarded the EMCC European Quality Award (EQA) at Senior Practitioner level.

There are five modules altogether but you do not have to commit to the full degree programme until the end of module 3. For module 1 you will have two options: Coaching for Organisational Consultants or Team Coaching for Consultants. As both of these modules are Open Programmes, you may choose just to start with one of these and then sign up for the degree if you would like to go further.

After completing Modules 1 and 2, Module 3 enables you to prepare to become an Accredited Coach with Ashridge Accreditation. This popular certification has been helping coaches to excel since 2002.

The Cultural area's main objectives include the acquisition of notions and an effective method of communication of several types of projects. This area includes lectures, classes, workshops and individual studies.

The second area of Tools and Techniques aims at the application of graphic design in diverse contexts with particular attention to developing areas (video, social communication, mobile UI/UX, interface design and digital publishing).

The Project area is mainly practical and strategic and aims at the complete management of a communication project in all of its phases in collaboration with companies or other external partners.

Lessons and classes are all structured as working briefs and workshops. Participants will work on the basis of real briefs which are inserted from the start in a context that reconstructs the dynamics of working companies and studio in multiple contexts such as communication studios, companies or visual departments within institutions. Degree information

The programme teaches a broad and deep understanding of endodontology, enabling students to apply appropriate clinical strategies from first principles. Mentored coaching specifically targets development of independent learning skills, to enable long-term achievement of mastery.

Students undertake modules to the value of 360 credits. The third year of study is non-credit bearing and will include clinical training, didactic teaching and completion of clinical audit. There are no optional modules, all core modules are compulsory.
