Le Centre international de formation de l’Organisation internationale du Travail (CIF-OIT) organise, en partenariat avec l’Institut d’études politiques de Paris (« Sciences Po ») et l’Université de Turin (Italie), un programme de master en gouvernance et management des marchés publics en appui au développement durable dans lequel les participants explorent les fondements juridiques, règlementaires, économiques, managériaux et organisationnels d’un système moderne de gouvernance et de management des marchés publics.

Ce programme de master intègre des méthodes d’enseignement et des techniques d’apprentissage mixtes qui permettent aux participants d’étudier et d’assimiler la théorie et d’appliquer les connaissances de façon pratique par la réalisation de travaux, d’études de cas, de visites d’étude et d’un projet de recherche appliquée. La participation au programme permet aussi d’accéder à un réseau et d’être exposé à l’expertise, à l’expérience et au savoir-faire d’académiciens, d’experts travaillant au sein d’organismes internationaux et de spécialistes des secteurs public et privé.

La finalité du programme est de préparer les participants à occuper des fonctions exécutives ou managériales en relation avec la régulation, la passation ou la supervision des marchés publics et des contrats au niveau des administrations et des organisations internationales.

Le programme se déroule en français et il est d’unedurée totale de 12 mois.

Le programme est structuré en trois phasesd’apprentissage successives d’une durée d’environquatre mois suivant le calendrier ci-après:

La première phase

d’apprentissage se déroule à distance. Durant cette phase, les participants complètent un module deformation à distance via Internet. Cette phase commencera le 19 octobre 2015 et se terminera le 12 février 2016. Cette phase à distance permet d’initier les participants aux principes de la passation des marchés publics et de présenter les différentes étapes du processus d’acquisition de fournitures, de travaux et deservices.

La deuxième phase

d’apprentissage se déroule à Turin et consiste en une série de coursdispensés en classe par les différents experts et professeurs. Les cours débuteront sur le campusdu CIF-OIT le 15 février 2016 et se termineront le 17 juin 2016. Durant cette phase, la présence au cours est obligatoire car l’essentiel du programme de formation, des connaissances théoriques aux travaux pratiques, est délivrédurant cette période. La phase à Turin est la plus importante en raison de la densité du programme qui couvre dans le détail et enprofondeur l’ensemble des dix-huit modules.

La troisième phase

consiste en la préparation d’un projet de recherche appliquée, la rédaction d’une thèse et la soumission de cette dernière au conseil scientifique du programme. Durant cette phase, qui sedéroulera à distance, les participants seronttenus d’effectuer une recherche individuelle, sous les conseils de leur superviseur, sur un thème lié aux marchés publics et de soumettreà la fin de cette phase une thèse finale. Les grandes lignes du projet de recherche seront présentées avant le début de la phase III et la thèse finale devra être soumise au conseil scientifique avant le 16 octobre 2016.

This course has been designed to provide those who work in the broad area of the public and human service professions an opportunity to study part-time for a doctorate in one of three fields of professional activity – education, law, or social sciences.

Within the context of research, students will be expected to develop their understanding of particular subjects pertinent to their own research projects as an integral element of the enquiry process rather than being taught particular subjects within the course. Students are expected to gain further knowledge of subjects pertinent to their research through guided reading and discussion.

What will I study?

Students will undertake the following modules comprising six stages of their research project for the award of a professional doctorate in their chosen field. There are no optional modules.

Module one: Introduction: Research questions, aims and initial review of the literature (20 credits at D level).
Module two: Identity and Epistemology: Towards an understanding of literatures and conceptual frameworks (100 credits at D level).
Module three: Designing and using mixed methods in research concerning one of the three areas of professional activity (education, law and social professions) (60 credits at D level).
Module four: Designing and using mixed methods to complement the research in the preceding module concerning one of the three areas of professional activity (education, law and social professions) (60 credits at D level).
Module five: Thesis: Critical Reflection and Reflexivity (120 credits at D level).

Students who successfully complete the first four modules and who wish to terminate their studies will normally be eligible for an MPhil award. The final module, comprising a thesis and critical reflections on reflexive changes in knowledge derived from the student’s own study will be examined by viva voce examination.

The professional doctorate in Education involves students in two formal elements of activity: workshops and supervision of their own research projects.

Workshops

You will attend three to four two-day workshops, in Nottingham (Clifton campus and City site), in each of the first three years of your study. These are co-taught with the Legal Practice and Social Practice courses, and deal with topics that are generically relevant to research at doctorate level. Each workshop or group of workshops is linked to a specific stage in the project.

How will I be assessed?

Six formal documents that are presented as logical stages of the whole research project. Discussions concerning the development of research and group presentations with individual evaluation of the group.

We use diagnostic and formative feedback to support students in their ability to recognise strengths and weaknesses in their own research, and to negotiate targets for developing their study. All summative assessment is used to establish the level of achievement at the end of each module.

To obtain a doctorate in Education (Ed. D.) students must pass each stage of the course (360 credits at D level). The research is concluded with a viva voce examination based on their thesis and critical reflections and reflexivity regarding changes in knowledge and/or methodology and/or the self, mediated by the process of research.

To obtain an M.Phil. students must pass all four modules normally presented in the first two years of the course (240 credits at D level).

Thanks to a partnership between AGS and the Law School of Université de Cergy-Pontoise in France, students enrolled in the Master of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy program at AGS may choose a dual-degree option whereby they earn two Master's degrees over the course of three years:

- A U.S.-accredited M.A. (Master of Arts) in International Relations and Diplomacy
- A Europe-accredited LL.M. (Master of Laws) in French & European Union Law and Business Ethics

In addition, students in this program earn a Certificate in Anglo-Saxon Law from AGS.

Course Overview

The Doctorate in Forensic Psychology is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and is the only British Psychological Society accredited programme in Wales. Upon completion, the programme provides students with eligibility to apply to the register to practice as Forensic Psychologists in the UK, and to gain Chartered Psychologist status with the British Psychological Society (BPS).

The intake for Top-Up Doctorate takes place in January and September each year. The Top-Up Doctorate is designed for qualified Forensic Psychologists who would like to undertake a research project on an aspect of specialism. The intake for the Full Doctorate programme takes place in September each year, and we would encourage applicants to apply before June of the year they would like to commence studies.

Flexibility is the essence of our approach to student learning. The Doctorate Programme facilitates students entering and exiting at different places within the Programme depending on the individual needs of the student. Thus, the full Doctorate programme comprises:
- MSc in Forensic Psychology
- Postgraduate Diploma in Practitioner Forensic Psychology
- ‘Top-Up’ doctorate, which is the higher level research component.

The Top-Up Doctorate will be available to registered practitioners who are seeking to formalise their research and clinical skills in an area of specialism. Applicants completing the Top-Up Doctorate will submit a research thesis reporting a significantly large piece of research.

Applicants to the Doctorate Programme may apply for the Full Programme, or for the MSc or PG Diploma, depending on their own individual needs and career progression. Applicants who apply for the MSc may (on successful completion) later apply for the PG Diploma and ‘Top-Up’ Doctorate. Students, who progress through the course on individual programmes will, after successful completion of all the component programmes, be awarded the Doctorate in Forensic Psychology.

In this way, within one programme and its flexible entry and exit points, we hope to provide a full range of higher-level academic study, further training and higher level research. We are not currently accepting applications for the full Doctorate programme in its entirety.

For the Top Up Doctorate, the thesis will be a large piece of independent research study. Each student will be assigned a supervision team who will be responsible for supporting and supervising the student during their research. At least 6 supervision meetings will be held each year, and a thorough review of training needs will be established and reviewed each year. The individual needs of the student will be met through either higher level Research Methods teaching at Cardiff Metropolitan University, or specialised external training. It is anticipated that many students on the Top Up component may be based some distant from Cardiff and in those cases the supervision team will support meetings through Skype or video conferencing. However, where additional training requires students to attend the university, it is expected that the student will factor this into their time commitments.

Assessment

The programme is assessed at the MSc programme by coursework assessment; and in the work-based practice by supervision reviews, and by coursework only, there are no exams. The International Management, Legislation and Society program aims to give students an education that enables them to adapt quickly to an international environment, whilst understanding the dynamics, and knowing how to effectively identify solutions to managerial problems.

Learning objectives

The curriculum presents two types of courses: subjects relating to the basic disciplines (business, economic, and law), and subjects relating to business issues and problems typically associated with the processes of internationalization of firms. This is done to balance traditional knowledge of management with the specialization and the development of specific internationalization-oriented skills. In addition to traditional business disciplines, there are courses that intend to develop the capability to work in different social and cultural contexts, and to review, develop and implement internationalization of firms.

Graduates from the International Management, Legislation & Society program are exposed to a wide range of career opportunities. Program Overview

The M.A. in International Relations and Diplomacy at the American Graduate School in Paris is a two-year program qualifying you for a broad range of careers in international affairs, from local governance to foreign affairs, to international development, human rights advocacy, global communications, international business, and many other areas involving interaction with different countries and cultures.


:A US-accredited Program in France:

The M.A. in International Relations and Diplomacy at AGS combines the wide recognition of an American degree with the unique experience of a Paris-based program. It is accredited in the US as an affiliated program of Arcadia University (Pennsylvania) and taught at the American Graduate School in Paris, a private nonprofit institution of higher education recognized by the French Ministry of Higher Education.

Classes are taught in the heart of Paris. The French capital – which is also one of Europe’s capitals and an international hub – is an ideal location for the study of international affairs. The program takes full advantage of this through guest speakers, site visits, and networking events. These all represent opportunities to get exposed to the international scene and make connections with the many diplomatic missions, intergovernmental organizations, and NGOs that the city hosts.

:A Multicultural Learning Environment:

A unique aspect of the program is the diversity of perspectives infused in the classroom, with students as well as faculty coming from many different national origins. This combined with the American-style interactive teaching methods, makes for an enriching and mind-opening class experience.


:Master’s thesis:

The program culminates in the completion of a Master’s thesis. Through the in-depth research and writing involved in the thesis process you will form a specialization in an area of your interest, as well as strengthen your ability to plan and complete a substantial project.

:Foreign Policy component:

You may choose to include a foreign policy component in your thesis. Degree Requirements

In order to obtain the degree of Master of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy, you must meet the following conditions:

:Internship:

While in the Master’s program, you have the opportunity to perform an internship in a Paris-based organization: diplomatic/consular mission, intergovernmental organization, NGO, multinational corporation news media outlet or another type of relevant international institution.

Internships are optional and can be pursued either for credit (then counting as a an elective course in the curriculum) or not-for-credit. You may specialize in a particular sector of international affairs and obtain, in addition to your M.A. in International Relations and Diplomacy, a Certificate of Concentration in your area of specialization. :Combined M.A.-Ph.D. program:

AGS offers a combined M.A.-Ph.D. program per the American model. The combined M.A.-Ph.D. program allows you to credit the required courses toward both degrees simultaneously. Ph.D. candidates having successfully completed their M.A. in International Relations and Diplomacy at AGS would therefore be exempt from taking the required courses, and would only have to take seven elective courses for the Ph.D. program. Note that admission into the Ph.D. program is not automatic after obtaining the M.A.

Timeframe options

Full-time two-year track: the program is designed to be completed in two years on a full-time basis, involving nine to twelve hours of classes per week in addition to readings, assignments, and the research and writing of the thesis.

Accelerated 18-month intensive track: You have the option to complete the program in three semesters instead of four. You would then be required to take twelve to fifteen hours of classes per week.

Part-time track: EU students and other students who do not need to be enrolled on a full-time basis for visa purposes may undertake the program over a longer period of time on a part-time basis. This allows working professionals and other interested candidates to combine the program with other activities.

This professional doctorate (in one of three fields of professional activity – education, law, and social sciences) is a three year part-time modular programme. The programme of study can best be viewed as a single research project that is developed in stages.

These fields of study have been drawn together by commonalties in:
- the philosophy of public and human service professions
- the particular view of the nature of professional doctorates and professional development
- the structure for carrying out research and completing the doctorate
- the way in which the professional doctorate is assessed.

Aims of the Professional Doctorate in Social Practice

- Provide students with an opportunity to explore both the complex relationships between knowledge, theory and practice, and also the intricate nexus of understanding the world and changing it.
- Develop students' ability to design and implement a research project at the boundaries of knowledge of their professional and educational fields.
- Provide students with an opportunity to develop their judgement, foresight and problem analysis by applying theoretical and philosophically tuned forensic skills to the research material derived from their investigations.
- Provide students with an opportunity to develop as both reflective and reflexive practitioners who have the intellectual and personal adaptability to be able to deal with the complexities of organisational change and ambiguity.

In order to meet these aims the programme of study has been structured around the process of research.

Assessment Methods

You will need to:

Create six formal documents that are presented as logical stages of the whole research project.
Partake in discussions concerning the development of your research.
Deliver group presentations with individual evaluation of the group.
We use diagnostic and formative feedback to support students in their ability to recognise strengths and weaknesses in their own research, and to negotiate targets for developing their study. All summative assessment is used to establish the level of achievement at the end of each module.

You will undertake the following research workshops comprising six stages of your research project for the award of a professional doctorate in your chosen field. There are no optional modules.

Research workshop one: Introduction: Research questions, aims and initial review of the literature (20 credit points at D level)
Research workshop two: Identity and Epistemology: Towards an understanding of literatures and conceptual frameworks (100 credit points at D level)
Research workshop three: Designing and using methods in research concerning social practice (60 credit points at D level)
Research workshop four: Designing and using research methods to complement the research in the preceding module concerning social practice (60 credit points at D level)
Research workshop five: Thesis: Critical Reflection and Reflexivity (120 credit points at D level)

To obtain an M.Phil. students must pass all four modules normally presented in first two years of the course (240 credit points at D level).

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is required for admission consideration to the Master of Business Administration program.

The MBA program requires a minimum GMAT score of 470 be posted for an applicant's admission packet to be reviewed by the program.

The MBA program may consider acceptance of expired GMAT scores. A determination is made by the MBA director.
If an applicant holds a master-level degree the program may consider the GRE in lieu of the GMAT. A determination is made by the MBA director.
If an applicant has been unconditionally accepted into a different master's degree at St. Cloud State and is electing to change his/her graduate program, a GRE may be considered in lieu of the GMAT.
The GMAT may be waived for applicants who hold a terminal degree such as an Ed.D., Ph.D., J.D., M.D. and D.V.M. A determination is made by the MBA director.
Substitution of any graduate entrance examination for the GMAT is subject to approval of the MBA director and the School of Graduate Studies.
